Tiraspol, September, 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting of subgroups in banking matters was held at the office of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol. The Pridnestrovian delegation was headed by the Chairman of the PMR Central Bank, Vladislav Tidva, and the Moldovan delegation was headed by Ion Sturzu, Vice President of the Moldova National Bank.
The central theme of the meeting was the Pridnestrovian enterprises accounts closure in commercial banks of Moldova. Representatives of Pridnestrovie emphasized that the problem was of a political nature, including due to recommendations of the Moldova National Bank, according to the PMR MFA press service.
The Pridnestrovian side called on the leadership of the Moldovan regulator to take urgent measures to unblock the situation, as well as to facilitate the accounts opening by economic agents of Pridnestrovie.
Ion Sturzu said there were no complaints against Pridnestrovian enterprises, recognizing the right of the Pridnestrovian business to open accounts with Moldova credit organizations in order to carry out current foreign economic activity.
At the same time, the Moldovan side refused to reconcile data on Pridnestrovian enterprises with accounts opened in the Republic of Moldova commercial banks. As it is known, according to the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank, there are talking about 25 economic agents, while the Moldovan side says that more than four hundred enterprises from Pridnestrovie have accounts in Moldova.
The parties agreed to continue the search for mutually acceptable solutions to this problematic issue, including taking into account the upcoming visit of the international banking expert, who will arrive in Pridnestrovie and Moldova next week at the invitation of the OSCE Mission.
