Tiraspol, September, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. One of the main issues discussed at a today meeting of Pridnestrovie and Moldova political representatives Vitaly Ignatiev and Vasily Shova was the Pridnestrovian enterprises bank accounts blocking by Moldovan commercial banks.
According to the Minister of PMR Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev, Tiraspol and Chisinau have different data on the number of current accounts.
“According to the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank, which issues permits for opening such accounts in the territory of Moldova, there are only 25 such enterprises, but not hundreds, as the Moldovan side claims,” he noted.
At the same time, the Moldovan side “recognizes the problems existence with closing the accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises openly and quietly,” Ignatiev said.
“In this regard, it is gratifying that international partners understand the extremely operational and acute nature of the problem. It must be resolved as soon as possible,” the PMR Foreign Minister emphasized.
He also said that a meeting of the expert (working) subgroup on banking interaction was scheduled for September 16.
“We were guaranteed that representatives of the National Bank of Moldova, which was the regulator, would come. Apparently, the actions to close correspondent accounts are centralized, and the National Bank of Moldova is well aware of them. Therefore, I hope that the Pridnestrovian and Moldavian specialists will be able to find a common denominator,” Ignatiev said.
Recall: on September 5, the Moldovan commercial bank, in which a number of Pridnestrovian enterprises accounts were opened, blocked all operations. Economic entities received a notification demanding to close the account. Thus, Pridnestrovian importers do not have the opportunity to purchase goods and make settlements with foreign partners.
