Tiraspol, May, 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with a delegation of the British Embassy in the Republic of Moldova. The delegation was led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Lucy Joyce. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Embassy Gary Davis.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev appreciated the existing experience of cooperation with the British side and thanked for the humanitarian implemented projects.
In particular, the Minister noted the support provided by the embassy to the Pridnestrovian services to combat emergencies and fires.
It should be reminded that Pridnestrovian firefighters received a few specialized vehicles equipped with professional equipment, sets of hydraulic tools, as well as personal protective equipment from their UK colleagues. The vehicles transferred within the framework of the joint project implementation made it possible to reduce the time of getting to the fire scene and more effectively assist the victims of emergency situations. Also, training exercises were conducted for Pridnestrovian firefighters.
In the framework of today's conversation the parties also discussed the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev drew attention to the low dynamics in the dialogue and highlighted the main problems that require the priority attention of the parties and international participants of the “5 + 2” format.
Following the meeting, its participants agreed to maintain direct contacts on matters of mutual interest.
