Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling

Meeting between Vadim Krasnoselsky and Kelly Keiderling took place in the office of the PMR President. The Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova arrived in Tiraspol to discuss current issues. The agenda includes traditional issues: the state of affairs in the republic, the negotiation process, the work of the "5+2" format, as well as the presidential elections and referendum held in the neighboring state last week. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the discussion from the Pridnestrovian side.

Welcoming the guest, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of maintaining working contacts and a systemic dialogue with OSCE representatives, especially in the context of a protracted pause in the work of the "Permanent Conference..." format and the stalled negotiation process. The President of the PMR noted that it is in their power to facilitate the continuation of negotiations and stability in the region. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnestrovie is principled and consistent in matters of maintaining peace and is interested in the negotiation process aimed at eliminating any kind of tension and escalation. The President called for pragmatism, focused on results and movement along the path of compromise – both in solving current routine issues and in achieving peace and security. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the important role of the OSCE as observers and consultants during elections. "We are closely monitoring how the electoral processes are taking place in the neighboring state and are concerned about the nervousness in Moldovan society. We would not like this nervousness to be used by third parties to carry out provocations," the PMR President noted.

Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Kelly Keiderling noted that tension and nervousness exist, people are afraid of the future, and have doubts about future stability. She said that the team of the organization she represents focused on the polling stations opened in the Security Zone and was pleased to note the absence of any incidents: "People walked calmly, voted, everything was calm". Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope that the Moldovan electoral processes will be successfully completed and will not have a negative impact on the life of Pridnestrovian society.
