MFA DISCUSSED THE PROTECTION OF PRIDNESTROVIANS` RIGHTS WITH UN REPRESENTATIVES

According to the Deputy Minister of PMR Foreign Affairs, strengthening and expanding cooperation with the UN is an important area of Pridnestrovian foreign policy

Tiraspol, May, 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Foreign Ministry held a meeting of the Deputy Minister of PMR Foreign Affairs, Alexander Stetsyuk, with Roman Shpak, who is in charge of political affairs in Europe and Central Asia of the United Nations Department for Political Affairs, Peace Building and Peacekeeping Operations.

The meeting was also attended by the Counselor for Peace and Development of the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Moldova John Lewis.

Welcoming the guests, Alexander Stetsyuk noted that strengthening and expanding cooperation with the UN is an important area of ​​Pridnestrovie’s foreign policy, expressing hope for the development of new forms and areas of bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, the current challenges and prospects for resolving problematic issues. They also touched upon the issue of protecting the rights of Pridnestrovian residents through the internationally available UN instruments.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain contacts on issues of mutual interest.
