JCC PREPARES THE ADDRESS TO THE POPULATION OF THE SAFETY ZONE

The governing body of the peacekeeping operation will appeal to hand over weapon and ammunition voluntarily

Bendery, January, 17. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At today's meeting of JCC, the report on a situation in the Safety zone was heard. The Pridnestrovian side paid attention to the discrepancy in the designation of some posts to their real functionality.

«If earlier, proceeding from the 574th protocol, in a zone of responsibility of the RM customs posts appeared, then taking into account addition of migration services, naturally, their structure has changed. Though they are still called customs and police posts. It is necessary to reflect accurately these changes in the name of a post», - the Cochairman of JCC from Pridnestrovian side Oleg Belyakov noted in an interview with journalists.

He reported that JCC prepares the traditional address to the population of the Safety zone about the voluntary hand over weapon and ammunition.

«There is still an active withdrawal of weapon and ammunition. In this regard today JCC made the decision to address the citizens living in the Safety zone with an appeal about the surrender of weapons», - the Cochairman told.

At today's meeting, the questions connected with the functioning of commandant's offices and also the activity of military observers were considered. «The range of the questions which are brought up at JCC meeting is quite wide as we work in the full-scale mode», - noticed Belyakov.

The next meeting of JCC conducted by the Russian side will be hold in a week.
