Tiraspol, 3 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The government held the first meeting of the organising committee on preparation and holding of the Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum. Representatives of ministries, government agencies, presidential administration, Supreme Council, Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Pridnestrovian State University were invited to attend the discussion.
Opening the meeting, deputy prime minister Aleksey Tsurkan recalled that the international economic forum had been held in Pridnestrovie the previous year. According to him, last year's forum was the place where it was possible to develop and discuss with the business community and members of NGOs the ideas proposed by the state.
Over 600 people attended the forum last year. Thirty-two domestic enterprises presented their products; three cooperation agreement were signed; 15 discussions were held in various formats - panel sessions, round tables, scientific and practical conferences.
The main feature of this year's forum will be its investment component, the government's press service reports. Tsurkan informed the participants that a new investment law had already been adopted to attract funds to the Pridnestrovian economy.
A number of organisational aspects were discussed during the meeting. CCI president Yury Ganin made several suggestions for preparing the forum. One of them is the forum's own website to help participants to get registered and obtain the necessary information. Also, according to Ganin, it is necessary to form a common register of production capacities in use in each region and sector.
Tsurkan approved both initiatives and gave the corresponding instructions to the State Service for Communication, relevant ministries, state administrations, the government's press service reports.
In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development will form a working group which will approve the date and place of the forum, to develop a schedule of preparation and holding of the forum and to resolve other issues.
The participants also discussed the possible ways of attracting investors. In this context, in addition to the benefits and guarantees enshrined in the law "On state support of investment activities", the authorities will have to present their own business projects to forum guests.
"The emphasis on attraction on investments, preparation of specific investment business plans which should be presented at the forum by the authorities indicates what we are ready for and what our economy needs," explained Tsurkan.
As for the invitation of participants, all parties concerned - including the government, Supreme Council, state administrations, CCI - are ready engage their channels.
The forum's aim is to showcase the advantages and to form the prerequisites for investment in the Pridnestrovian economy, the deputy prime minister underscored.
As we have informed, the Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum will be held in September - October 2018 in accordance with the government's decree.
