First Moldovan farmers receive temporary certificates for land-use in Dubossary district

The documents were handed over by the chief negotiators of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Vitaly Ignatyev and Cristina Lesnic

Dubossary district, 26 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The first three Moldovan farmers have received temporary certificates for land-use in Pridnestrovie's Dubossary district. The ceremony was another stage in implementing a protocol decision signed in November 2017 on some measures to settle issues related to the implementation of the 2006 Mechanism on the use of farmland in Dubbossary district behind the Tiraspol-Kamenka motorway.

The certificates were handed over by the chief negotiators of Pridnestrovir and Moldova, Vitaly Ignatyev and Cristina Lesnic, the MFA's press service reports.

"I believe that the agreement we reached was an uneasy compromise, but there are the protocol provisions that we signed on 25 November 2017, and, of course, we'll comply with our commitments, as well as the Moldovan side, I hope," said Vitaly Ignatyev.

He noted that necessary adjustments had been made to certain parameters, in particular, according to him, Pridnestrovie had gone towards meeting Chisinau's terms regarding the extension of a land-use period, provided Pridnestrovian farmers, who had earlier sown those fields, were able to yield the harvest. He also said that the certificates issued today would come into effect on 1 August 2018.

"I think this is a big step forward. The negotiations were not easy. I very much hope that this will help solve those issues that are related to the interests of people, economic agents, farmers and land users in general," the diplomat stated.
