Igor Chaika convinced of Pridnestrovie's attractiveness for Russian investors

The member of the general board of Business Russia said at the business forum that the country's authorities had done much to improve the investment climate

The member of the general board of Business Russia, Igor Chaika, is convinced of Pridnestrovie's attractiveness for Russian investors. That's what he said during the business forum in Moscow. Igor Chaika believes that the meeting "will pave the way to implementing a large number of business projects that was earlier discussed," Russia's Ggazeta.ru reports.

"There is great interest in Russian investment in Pridnestrovie; the authorities and business community have prepared a serious basis for implementing joint projects. This work is already yielding results" in 2016 Pridnestrovie exported 7% of its goods; this year this rate has doubled," noted Chaika.

As a result of 2016, Russia became Pridnestrovie's main trade partner with 34% of the country's total turnover.

According to Chaika, in recent years the Pridnestrovian authorities have done much to improve the investment climate: undertook tax reform, developed development road maps, adopted law to minimise investment risks. He considers cooperation in the field of agriculture and light industry to be particularly promising.

The business forum of Pridnestrovian and Russian entrepreneurs has started in Moscow. The forum will last two days. It is organised by non-governmental organisation Business Russia.

The Pridnestrovian delegation headed by prime minister Alexander Martynov is on a working visit to Moscow. This is a return visit by representatives of various governmental agencies and enterprises. In early September, Business Russia representatives visited Tiraspol. An agreement was signed back then to delegate a Pridnestrovian representative to Business Russia and organise a return visit.

Russia is represented at the forum by the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, Ministry of Economic Development, transnational corporations, Russian Railway, etc. Pridnestrovie, in turn, is represented by its industrial flagships: KVINT, Tirotex, Kamenka Canning Factory, Intercentre Lux and others. The programme of the visit includes round tables on the development of business cooperation between our country and Russia, as well as signing a three-sided memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation. The topics to discuss will include issues of industrial and agricultural cooperation.

Today, 6 December, the Pridnestrovian delegation will visit several enterprises in the Moscow Oblast.
