Tiraspol, 30 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky called speculation media reports that agreements on socio-humanitarian issues between Kishinev and Tiraspol had been made possible thanks to shadow talks between oligarchs Vlad Plahotniuc and Viktor Gushan.

"The speculation primarily aims to distort, defame and question the agreements which have been reached to the benefit of the Pridnestrovian people," said Krasnoselsky during a news conference on Thursday.

In November 2017, Pridnestrovie and Moldova were able to solve several serious long-standing social and humanitarian issues. The countries managed to agree on a mechanism of the recognition of university diplomas issued in Pridnestrovie; to reach a telecommunication agreement; to solve issues related to the work of Romanian-language schools in the PMR and the use of land by Moldovan farmers in Pridnestrovie's Dubossary District.

According to Krsnoselsky, these agreements were the result of serious and painstaking teamwork.

"This is the outcome of great work that I hope will continue," said the president.

"A tremendous amount of work has been done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and personally the foreign minister, Mr Ignatyev," he said.

According to the president, 11 working groups held 30 meetings, working on the issues. Besides, there were nine meetings of political representatives, he explained.

"As president, I was in constant contact with the OSCE as a mediator and with Russia and Ukraine as guarantors and discussed the same issues," added Krasnoselsky.

"Everyone was working tirelessly," the president summed up.

According to Krasnoselsky, Pridnestrovie started working on those issues back in January 2017.

"As a result, at the end of the year, we have come to understand a joint protocol. We have worked out the protocols that are acceptable both to Pridnestrovie and to Moldova on very important issues," said the president.

Among the important achievements, he pointed out the opening of a bridge across the Dniester near the villages of Bychok and Gura Bicului. According to Krasnoselsky, the first lorries will cross the bridge in less than a month, which will optimise logistics for economic agents.

The most important thing, according to him, is an agreement on the non-military use of the bridge as there is a Moldovan military installation within several tens of kilometres from the bridge.

The president believes that citizens will be able to discern the truth from insinuations. "Our people are wise and will finally figure it out. Time will sort everything out," he said.

At the same time, Krasnoselsky warns against speculation and attempts to distort the truth.

"I want to warn you: no need to play games with us. This will end fatally for those who have started these games," said the president.
