Rosturizm to promote tourism in Pridnestrovie

The Russian agency wants to include package tours to Pridnestrovie in Russian programmes

Tiraspol, 7 Novemeber. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky met Russia's ambassador to Moldova, Farit Mukhametishin, and the head of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency, Oleg Safonov. They spoke about the prospects for the development of tourism in Pridnestrovie and the inclusion of Pridnestrovian tours in Russian tourist programmes, the presidential press service reports.

Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the multiethnicity and uniqueness of our region, which has preserved the best Russian and Soviet traditions, as well as the genuine Moldavian culture, ethnicity and language.

They also touched upon Pridnestrovie's unity with Russia, which was vividly illustrated by a march of thousands of Pridnestrovians dedicated to National Union Day. Only Pridnestrovie showed such large-scale involvement in the celebration of this meaningful holiday for the Russian people, Krasnoselsky underscored.

The president also spoke about mutual benefits of Russian-Pridnestrovian relations in the tourist field. Krasnoselsky particularly singled out the health resort sphere, drawing the guests' attention to the quality and affordability of the services provided at Kamenka's Dnestr sanatorium.

It was noted that tourism was very important as a non-commodity area for the successful functioning of the economy and support for the social environment. Increased activities in this sector can give impetus to the development of over 50 sectors of the national economy, Oleg Safonov noted.

It is Safonov's first time in Pridnestrovie. He visited several tourist attractions today, among which were the Military Memorial Complex and the Bendery fortress. The Russian guest stressed the prospect of the development of the tourist industry in Pridnestrovie, noting the country's attractiveness in terms of its history and present time. Safonov noted the feeling of comfort, convenience and safety, as well as climatic and culinary aspects that could attract potential tourists.

Not only historical objects but also modern sports facilities captured the guest's attention. The river is also an advantage that can bring the country's ecotourism to qualitatively new level. Another important sector is health resort activities. Key to achieving success in the tourism sphere is the information component, Safonov believes.

"Very little information on Pridnestrovie is available today. There is no tourist product in the Russian market. The purpose of my visit is to promote its establishmnet. We need to prepare package tours. They are very popular among Russian tourists. The prices Pridnestrovie can offer in the health resort sphere are very attractive. In addition to quality food and treatment. We have a project in Russia called 'Affordable Travel', which is designed, for instance, for senior citizens. Your offers are competitive. We'd love to include them in our programs. It is important to explain to Russians that travelling to Pridnestrovie is easy and, above all, safe," underscored Safonov.

Tours in Pridnestrovie, according to him, should be diverse. Combined options are also possible. The Russian guest underscored that the agency was interested in new contacts and ready to assist Pridnestrovians.

Vadim Krasnoselsky invited Rosturizm representatives and Russian businessmen involved in the tourist sphere to visit an economic forum that would take place in Moscow in December under the auspices of Business Russia. The forum aims to inform Russians about the possibilities of the Pridnesrovian economy, with business offers that may be of interest to Russian investors.  The head of the agency thanked the president for the invitation, noting that such events were essential for establishing new contacts.
