Pridnestrovian delegation to JCC suggests planned inspection of peacekeeping posts

The goal is to check their readiness for the autumn and winter period

Bendery, 19 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The regular meeting of the Joint Control Commission (ОСС) approved a new OSCE representative to the ОСС and heard a report of the Joint Military Command (JMC) on the situation in the Security Zone.

"The situation remains under the control of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces and the JCC, is stable and manageable. This is the most important thing for our citizens who are well aware that the peacekeepers keep fulfilling their duties well enough," Pridnestrovie's JCC c-chair Oleg Belyakov told journalists.

The Moldovan side raised issues related to the rotation of peacekeepers carried out by Russia.

"This is a standard activity when one unit enters and another leaves the Security Zone. All planned work in this direction is under way, and we understand that only trained peacekeepers, who will carry out their tasks of maintaining peace and security, enter the Security Zone," underscored Belyakov.

JMC members also reported that all peacekeeping posts were ready for service in the autumn and winter period. The Pridnestrovian side suggested carrying out a planned inspection of the posts with the involvement of JCC delegations to monitor the situation on the ground.
