Tiraspol, August 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Within the meeting with the deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation — Russian President's envoy for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin, Pridnestrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky commented on the decision of the constitutional court of Moldova which had qualified staying of the Russian peacekeepers in Pridnestrovie as an illegal act. He also paid attention to the decision of the Moldovan parliament to eliminate the peacekeeping mission on the banks of the Dniester.
«The statements and the decisions of the Constitutional court of Moldova that Russia should leave Pridnestrovie are very dangerous. And the decision of the Moldovan parliament to replace the peacekeeping mission of Russia by the civil operation is also. All this has been taken up by some politicians, and now there is very heavy pressure upon the Russian peacekeepers. I see a desire to expell the Russian peacekeeping contingent from the territory of Pridnestrovie," Vadim Krasnoselsky told.
«Pridnestrovians — all leadership and all people — have a consistent position. We understand the importance of the peacekeepers in the Pridnestrovie's territory, we understand and realize that we have reached peace in 25 years thanks to participation of the peacekeepers in this conflict, namely elimination of the conflict," the president emphasized.
According to him, 'change of the peacekeeping element is a direct way to escalation of the conflict'.
Vadim Krasnoselsky also expressed a regret that Rogozin hadn't be able to come to the celebration of the 25 anniversary of the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie. According to him, celebration was massive, however the Moldovan military personnel didn't take part in it, and it is a troubling sign.
