Dubossary, 23 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The government intends to assist Dubossary's winery&distiller
He noted that the factory's products have long become Pridnestrovie's visiting card and one of its well-known brands.
And indeed, through its more than 50 years of history, the name of Buket Moldavii has become a symbol of the Moldavian (during the USSR) and then Pridnestrovian wine-making. Its Vermouth is known far beyond the borders of even the CIS.
Its main advantage is entirely natural components. The factory purchases only alcohol and sugar and the rest components are own. The production cycle is closed, which is why the quality is supervised at every stage — from the planting of vines to the shipment of goods.
«We have our own source of raw materials — vineyards, herbs, fruit trees which we use to produce wines and infusions. The product is completely natural without any flavouring agents. The production involves several workshops: principal, wine blending, infusion, bottling and finished product. We have our own chain of shops," said the deputy director general on economics and finance of Buket Moldavii JSC, Alla Kitik,
The total range of the factory's products comprises over 50 items of alcohol. Almost a third of them are herb-flavoured wines, the rest are dry wines, sparkling wine, vodka, liquors, balms and since recently brandies.
The company's potential annual output is up to 500,000 decalitres, but now it operates only at 20% of its capacity. For example, last year it produced only 87,000 decalitres. The problem lies in market outlets with the main share of sales accounting today for the domestic market. Supplies to Ukraine ceased several years ago because of the closure of all partner factories; the Russian market has been lost due to import duties imposed on Moldovan alcohol products, including those made in Pridnestrovie. Because of them, the price for Pridnestrovian wines goes up, making them uncompetitive.
Should we return to [the Russian] market, things would go much better at the factory, Buket Moldavii workers told Alexander Martynov. The prime minister said that he plans to meet the management of Buket Moldavii next week to discuss this issue. According to him, it is better to cooperate directly with Russian regions.
«There are issues related to import taxation which together with hampered access to Russian retail outlets are the main problem. It is necessary to meet more frequently with Russian governors and, as Dmitry O. Rogozin said, to solve this issue at the regional level. This is the right approach, and the management of the company considers it to be efficient. The government must use its channels, and in this way we'll resolve this issue together," he said, stressing that when moving forward persistently, one can «break through any obstacles».
