Tiraspol, 30 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The minister of agriculture and natural resources, Efimiy Koval, commented on the results of his visit to Moscow as part of the governmental delegation.

According to him, he held a meeting with the director of the land reclamation department of Russia's agricultural ministry, Valery Zhukov, and his deputy, Igor Yanov. The main issue was the need to make changes in the terms of reference of the first phase of the investment programme «Reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of irrigation systems within the agroindustrial complex of the republic for 2016−2018», the press service of the Pridnestrovian ministry reports.

«Funds to be spent on the procurement of sprinklers under the first phase of the programme are proposed to reallocate for the expansion of the area of lands enshrined in a project for the reconstruction of the Pridnestrovian reclamation complex," explained Efimiy Koval.

Another proposal was to accelerate the reconstruction of the land reclamation system in Slobodzeya and Grigoriopol districts.

«We previously discussed these proposals with Igor Yanov during his recent visit to our country. He had no objections. The department director also agreed with our arguments," said the Pridnesrovian minister.

It should be reminded that the investment programme suggests that the reconstruction and upgrading also apply to pumping stations and irrigation network, which upon the completion of works will ensure sustainable and qualitative watering at 26,800 hectares of farmland. The programme is scheduled for three years. Funds to be allocated for the planned works exceed 2.4 billion Russian roubles.
