Tiraspol, 13 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In connection with the ungrounded accusations voiced at various forums and in a number of media outlets against the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank (PRB) of "holding" foreign currency, the bank's public relations department informs that from 1 to 31 May the PRB received an equivalent of $4,545,473.8 in foreign currency.
"Within the same period of time the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank sold foreign currency at an equivalent amount of $4,555, 870.84 (including the fulfilment of its obligations to the clients). The negative balance is equivalent to $10.397,49," says the statement.
The PRB also reminds that pursuant to the present law, the central bank provides in a regular way information on the country's gold and currency reserves to the president, government and Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
