Vitaly Ignatyev briefs president on results of the 5+2 Permanent conference

The meeting took place on 2-3 June in Berlin

Tiraspol, 7 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with the acting foreign minister. Vitaly Ignatyev briefed the head of state on the results of «The permanent conference…» in the 5+2 format, which took place on 2−3 June in Berlin." We need a dialogue in this format. This will draw our international partners' attention to the everyday problems our citizens face. All our partners have a common understanding that these problems should be immediately solved," underscored the minister.

Following the regular round of negotiations, representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, as well as Russia. Ukraine and the OSCE, signed a meeting protocol. «The document is a specific road map, which will enable the sides to resolve as soon as possible — prior to the Bavarian conference — a whole number of practical problems worsening citizens' lives. First of all, this refers to issues related to freedom of movement for motor cars, recognition of graduate diplomas, politically motivated criminal cases, including difficulties with crossing the border at Kishinev airport. The protocol is a positive step as it outlines the practical tasks that should be resolved first," said Vitaly Ignatyev.

As was noted during the meeting, the Pridnestrovian side has already drafted a whole package of solutions to the above problems. «We suppose our Moldovan colleagues will respond to them and our dialogue will be more substantive and efficient," the presidential press office cites the acting foreign minister as saying.
