Tiraspol, 12 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last week the government made a decision to reduce customs duties for POL and for some groups of food products. As the first deputy chair of the government, Alevtina Slinchenko, noted in an interview with PGTRK [state-run TV and radio company], the result of these actions could be seen in case the Supreme Council adopted the government's initiatives expanding the list of socially significant goods whose markups are regulated by the state.
«We have said these measures won't be efficient unless we reach understanding on the part of the Supreme Council regarding the regulation of food markups. Today we can see very high markup, which sometimes exceed 100%," states Slinchenko.
She added the government was ready to have a dialogue with MPs.
Speaking about the government's readiness to take up a loan offered by a private company to repay debts to public sector employees, she underscored that it was necessary to specify certain aspects before signing an agreement.
«We have analysed all the implications of taking this loan and made a decision to accept the private company's offer, but at the same time we have outlined the issues that are necessary to discuss before signing a loan agreement. These are the loan’s amount and redemption dat. The redemption issue requires special examination because the budget includes MPs' amendments providing for funding sources which, in our opinion, are groundless. This is the so-called 'air' money we have talked about. 'Air' funds are included in the budget revenues, but the government will have to pay real money pursuant to the budget law," said the deputy chair of the government.
Alevtina Slinchenko also said that a letter requesting for targeted material assistance to Pridnestrovie had been sent to Russia's vice premier Dmitry Rogozin.
«Russia has always extended a helping hand to us, and we are looking forward to a positive result. I want to remind you that we have held meetings in Moscow since the end of 2015, and soon these meetings will result in a great help and support to our exporters selling goods to Russia," concluded Alevtina Slinchenko.
