The Commander-in-Chief took part in the ceremony of commissioning the new building of the Military Institute

The Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is a new settler. Significant both for the educational system and for the formation of professional personnel of the security agencies of Pridnestrovie, the university with more than thirty years of history has acquired a decent infrastructure. The initiative to build a full-fledged cadet town in the central part of the capital belongs to the PMR Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Vadim Krasnoselsky. The chosen location not only logistically, but also historically corresponds to the profile of the educational institution. The first battalion of the Republican Guard was located on this site previously, and a unit of the Tiraspol garrison later. The President visited the unit with an inspection in 2019. The caserns required urgent attention. Routine repairs could not fix the situation. The President ordered the construction of a new building. More radical decision to move the institute was made. The project has been adjusted. Several years of serious construction work, impressive financial investments from the state budget (over 42 million rubles) – and the official commissioning of the facility took place today. There are about 250 people in military uniform on the new parade ground: cadets of the institute – full-time and part-time students, officers, graduates of the Tiraspol Suvorov School, musicians of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the PMR. Honorary guests, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky were on the podium.

They said during the ceremonial event that the Military Institute has become an educational platform for more than eight thousand cadets and students who have completed training under the reserve officer training program. The cadets are on state provision. They receive a monthly salary upon completion of the second year and the conclusion of a contract. Each student takes a driving course to obtain a driver's license, masters the skills of using all types of firearms, hand-to-hand combat and self-defense techniques, learns to work with computers and effectively apply the latest technologies, including information technologies. The graduate is awarded the military rank of "lieutenant" and is provided with a place of service in the security forces of Pridnestrovie. The educational institution was in demand before, and after the infrastructure reboot, interest in the university will increase even more. The President called today an important day for the institute, the armed forces and the country as a whole. The educational institution is a center for the training and retraining of military personnel, Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled. He thanked everyone who was involved in the implementation of a project that is significant for the republic. The President emphasized that the state should and does create conditions for the development of young people, and expressed confidence that young people are ready to defend the Fatherland.

The President presented state awards. Vadim Krasnoselsky and other invitees inspected the new institute building after the ceremony. This is a multi-story building built from scratch, designed to organize the educational process and comfortable stay of 200 cadets. The total area is 4200 square meters. It houses classrooms, caserns, offices of officer teachers, a kitchen, a dining room, and an assembly hall. A video surveillance system has been installed, air conditioning is provided, and motion sensors on the stairwells provide timely lighting of the space. Three computer rooms are equipped. The classrooms have interactive whiteboards. The food block has modern equipment. The staff said that they are ready to feed up to 300 people in two visits.

The territory of what is now not a military unit, but an educational institution, has been transformed beyond recognition. The associated infrastructure facilities located here have been repaired, the fence and gates have been replaced, the lighting along the perimeter has been updated, the parade ground has been paved, and the parking area has been landscaped. The cadet town will have its own temple. Its foundation is ready. Cadets of the Military Institute tomorrow will begin their studies in the new building.
