Tiraspol, 2 December./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, a rally took place in Tiraspol against abuses committed last Sunday during the elections. It was organised near the office of the Central Election Commission by representatives of the Pridnestrovian Communist Party and some other NGOs.
The participants came out against falsification of the election results and for fair voting. Public activists pointed out numerous abuses committed during the election campaign and urged public authorities to investigate into them. The protesters demanded that the lists of voters should be presented to them and asked a CEC member to meet them. They also called upon Pridnestrovie's private media outlets to disseminate only reliable and true information. They said such meetings would be further held.
As Novosti Pridnestrovia has reported, yesterday Pridnestrovie's prosecutor warned rally organisers against violations of the law. Pridnestrovie's KGB also called on citizens and political organisations to avoid reacting to possible provocations and hold the rally within legal boundaries. Today, Pridnestovie's prosecutor has started administrative proceedings over the facts of public disorder during the rally.
