Tiraspol, February, 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting of the Community Advisory Council (CAS) on Customs Policy was held at the State Customs Committee, which was attended by the heads of major Pridnestrovian associations and unions.
The main issue of the meeting was summing up the activities of the CAS over the past year.
As the press service of the State Customs Committee specifies, a year ago at the initiative of the customs department the approach to organizing the CAS was changed - the leadership of the council was transferred to the business community, so this advisory body became completely independent. The attention of the council includes problems of the customs sphere, the solution of which is of great importance for enterprises and entrepreneurs of the republic.
As noted by the current chairman of the CAS, Boris Kichuk, as a result of the transformations that had taken place over two years, not only in the area of customs and business interaction, but also in government policies to facilitate foreign trade, the SCC and economic agents managed to establish a constructive dialogue. Today, both sides` positions are absolutely transparent, and the interaction is based on the principles of partnership.
Boris Kichuk enumerated an impressive list of issues on which CAS representatives had been contacting the customs authorities for a year. They concerned a variety of areas: from the simplification of procedures for the conditional release of goods and processing of perishable goods to assist in the export of products to the Russian market. As the speaker noted, not a single problem was left unattended by the State Customs Committee, even the most difficult one. Almost all of them were resolved promptly.
The CAS Presidium, which consists of the leaders of associations, including the Republican pharmacists, Dniester Fruit, the Pridnestrovian Trade Union of Entrepreneurs, thanked the customs authorities for their willingness to resolve any issues, professionalism and active citizenship.
During the meeting, the council members identified forward-looking aspects of further interaction.
The Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vitaly Neagu thanked the representatives of the business community for their work and noted that the integrity of economic agents is the key to trusting relationships and government preferences in the customs sphere.
Virtually all large enterprises and commercial firms of the republic declared the refusal to use unfair and dubious methods of conducting foreign economic activity by signing the Charter of Participants in Foreign Economic Activities of Pridnestrovie in early 2018.
