Tiraspol, June 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last week the Pridnestrovian delegation headed by the president Vadim Krasnoselsky visited London, where a working meeting was held in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of Great Britain. Vadim Krasnoselsky together with the prime minister Alexander Martynov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatyev talked to the additional director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate of the British Foreign Office Nikola Pollitt.
Also, at the invitation of the Oxford Union debating club, the head of Pridnestrovie visited Oxford where he gave a lecture about the historical and legal bases of the Pridnestrovie's statehood to the students and teachers.
As soon as the Moldova's media became aware about the results of the visit to the British capital, they regarded as «a unique case thoughout the existence of the unrecognized republic» because «the Pridnestrovie's leadership also visited the European countries previously, however only within the international forums related to the settlement or for negotiations with the Moldavan officials».
It also appeared that Chisinau even asked London not to receive the Pridnestrovian officials at the formal level. But London ignored this recommendation.
The Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev told about the details of the visit of the Pridnestrovie's leadership to Great Britain in the interview to the Russian TV channel «Russia-24».
«The meetings were of the working kind. The president held a meeting with an additional director of of the Eastern Europe Directorate of the British Foreign Office Nikola Pollitt. The other British diplomats also participated in the meeting. And first of all, it was centered around the discussion on the current situation in the context of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement," Vitaly Ignatyev explained.
