Tiraspol, 7 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridenstrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky commented on a new plan announced by Kishinev, which has already been called the «stick-and-carrot» plan. According to the president, that issue had been discussed in Moscow with the special representative of the Russian president on Pridnestrovie, Dmitry Rogozin, but only briefly as «there was no point in wasting precious time to discuss this kind of 'plans'.»
«There were attempts to force us both in 1992 and later, and you know what came out of it. The Pridnestrovian nation consists of people of different nationalities, who are not divided by nationality and citizenship other than Pridnestrovie's. And I, as president of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, represent 220,000 citizens of Russia, about 100,000 Ukrainian citizens and over 200,000 citizens of Moldova. It is not Moldova that represents them, but the Pridnestrovian president elected by these people. This is very fundamental. And do the statements by the Moldovan side that we won't abandon Pridnestrovie because there are Moldovan citizens living there mean we return to the 'title nation' talk? This is why Moldovan politicians should be more careful and restrained when making such statements," said the president.
Vadim Krasnoselsky underscored that anything you like could be put on paper media, but it wouldn't work. Pressure could not solve that issue, and our counteraction would be equal to Moldova's direct pressure on us.
According to the president, in six months of Dodon's and Krasnoselsky's presidency, Moldova has not made any positive decisions. On the contrary, joint Moldo-Ukrainian posts have been set behind Pridnestrovie's back to block its economic activities.
«And in order to look constructive against this backdrop, it is Pridnestrovie that has made the first step to meet halfway, allowing Moldova to do the same. You are well aware of our initiatives to discontinue the criminal cases, to facilitate migration, on the functioning of Romanian-language schools in Pridnestrovie, on Dubossary's land users, on taxes and the payment of communal services by Moldovan individuals and legal entities in the territory of Pridnestrovie. We have really made a step to meet halfway. But things are right where they started in Moldova. They can think of anything they want, up to the escalation of the conflict," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
