Tiraspol, 31 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Georgy Bakhov, who previously nominated his candidacy for the presidential election, has withdrawn his nomination and returned the signature sheets to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the commission chair, Yelena Gorodetskaya, announced during today's CEC meeting. She also noted that another presidential candidate, Vladimir Gersyutenko, had sent an email message notifying of his intention to quit the election race. The CEC chair underscored, in the meantime, that unlike Georgy Bakhov he had not received signature sheets.
To date, the CEC has registered four candidates for president: Yevgeny Shevchuk, Vadim Krasnoselsky, Gennady Kuzmichyov and Oleg Horzhan. One more candidate, Yevgeny Vyushkov, has collected the necessary number of signatures in his support and submitted them to the CEC. The CEC will consider the question of his registration at the next meeting on Thursday.
