She garnered more than a half of all votes at the elections on Sunday
The News Agency "News Moldova" reports, there won't be the second voting round of the Gagauzia's bashkan. It was reported after the vote count that the Irina Vlakh won the elections. This information was voiced by the head of Gagauzia's CEC Valentin Kara.
"Vote count comes to an end, but it is safe to say that Vlakh has won and garnered more than 50% of votes in the first round. So, there won't be a second round" he noted.
There was a parallel vote count at the campaign headquarters of Irina Vlakh. "After the counting of 100% of protocols, Irina Vlakh gained 53.21% (35343 voices). Her opponent Nikolay Dudoglo gained only 18.2% (12086 voices). Valery Yanioglo took the third place and gained 7.65% (5080 voices)," the campaign headquarters' member of the winning candidate voiced such results of the parallel count.
The acting bashkan of Gagauziya Mikhail Formuzal congratulated Irina Vlakh. He expressed his confidence that the other candidates will adequately take their defeat not trying to controvert the results of election.
To be noted that the rapprochement between Gagauziya and Russia was one of the main directions of Irina Vlakh's election program.
