Tiraspol, October 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At the beginning of the week, the Moldovan authorities detained another shipment that was heading to Pridnestrovie. We are talking about a batch of buckwheat and high-grade wheat flour. The shipment was sent by the Russian manufacturer Makfa.
As the News Agency, Novosti Pridnestrovya was informed by the PMR Foreign Ministry, the shipment is at the Skulyany Checkpoint. An inspector from the Moldovan Food Safety Agency (ANSA) demanded a laboratory analysis of the batch for the content of the herbicide glyphosate. Meanwhile, such an analysis is not carried out in Moldova itself. The nearest laboratory with the appropriate equipment is only in Italy.
“Such requirements have never been put forward to Pridnestrovian importers before. This is something new and completely incomprehensible. There are serious doubts whether this is required even from those Moldovan enterprises that place these products on the domestic market of the Republic of Moldova, given that Moldova itself does not have the necessary capacities to conduct an analysis,” the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry noted.
It is noteworthy that we are talking about Russian shipments.
“It seems that someone is helping the EU to become the main exporter to the PMR, so that we have a certain process of replacing Russian goods with European ones,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
The issue needs to be resolved - Moldova undermines the PMR food security and begins to provoke a shortage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie has already addressed the political representative of the Republic of Moldova in the negotiations, Oleg Serebryan, and is also cooperating with the OSCE on the current situation. At the time when these lines are being written, Oleg Serebryan has not yet responded to the appeal of the Foreign Ministry.
