A meeting between the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Kelly Keiderling took place in the presidential executive office. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev also took part in the conversation.
Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the diplomat for involvement in the process of resolving the most difficult situation for the Pridnestrovians, provoked by the suspension of gas supplies to the republic. The PMR President spoke to Keiderling about his visit to Moscow and the consultations held there, expressing hope for the earliest possible resumption of gas supplies. He also recalled the assurances that the neighboring republic would not hinder this process. This was publicly stated by the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu in the course of briefing. Similar information was voiced earlier, on January 9, by the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Elina Valtonen, who referred to statements by the Moldovan leadership on this matter.
Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed Kelly Keiderling and in her person the OSCE and the entire international community with a request to monitor the fulfillment of the announced promise and facilitate the implementation of this project. All that is currently required from the Moldovan side is not to create obstacles to the resumption of humanitarian supplies of Russian gas to Pridnestrovie, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic emphasized.
The head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova for her part noted that she is in Tiraspol precisely as a representative of the international community, which is concerned about the state of affairs in the energy sector of Pridnestrovie and is making efforts to bring the republic out of the energy crisis.
