Preparations for the reorganization of the system of secondary vocational education continue. Regular meeting was held today. The President initiated and led the working discussion. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the settlement and analytical stage had been passed, the exchange of views on the main issues had taken place, and the initial proposals had been finalized. The updated mechanism should be launched by September. The expediency of optimization is undeniable. There are still working questions for practical implementation. It was discussed today at the presidential executive office. Representatives of the Government, the Supreme Council, the Ministry of Education, and Pridnestrovian State University were invited to the conversation. The updated presentation was presented by the Minister of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Svetlana Ivanishina. She recalled that the system of secondary vocational education is represented by 14 institutions today, 12 of which are subordinate to the Ministry of Education. The geography of the location of educational institutions is diverse. Rybnitsa, Dubossary and Dnestrovsk will not be affected by the upcoming changes.
The opinion that optimization necessarily involves reduction is erroneous, they said at the meeting. The discussed project is proof of that. If it is proposed to unite educational sites, avoid contiguity and duplication of specialties, and centralize management in the central part of the republic then the technical school of Kamenka is waiting for expansion, for example.
It is proposed to create a Pridnestrovian agro-industrial educational and production cluster by joining the Slobodzeya Polytechnic College to the College named after Frunze in Tiraspol, whose resources are currently not fully utilized, and the infrastructure requires multimillion-dollar investments.
The second object is the scientific and educational center of the city of Bendery. It will unite in one institution the local college, technical school and the polytechnic branch of the Pridnestrovian State University located in the city.
The third component of the optimization project is the Polytechnic Educational Institution named after Soltys in Kamenka. It is necessary to cover the north of the republic with vocational education. The base of the technical school is not used to its full potential. Educational buildings are used at 39% of their capacity, and the hostel is a quarter full. There is a serious expansion of the list of specialties for which workers will be trained here. It is necessary to take into account what directions the region's economy is represented, as well as take into account current trends in the labor market, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. The infrastructure and material and technical equipment of the educational institution require serious investments: most of the buildings of the 60s of the last century are outdated physically and morally. Funding should be justified by the demand for an educational institution at the same time. It was noted during the discussion that serious work is to be done to attract local youth to the technical school.
They discussed in the course of the meeting the ability to create living conditions for nonresident students, logistics, interaction with the industrial sector - both in terms of organizing a practice-oriented educational process, and in the context of employing graduates and providing labor market labor resources. They talked about the prospects for increasing the level of remuneration of teachers, as well as the need to improve their qualifications. The issue of freed up space was not left without attention. Buildings and premises should not be idle. On behalf of the President, proposals are being prepared for their use.
