Vitaly Ignatiev on the gas situation: We’re doing everything to prevent critical scenarios

Options for the issue’s resolution were offered by Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, November 21 / Novosti Pridnestrovya/ Currently, there’re different options for the situation’s development with natural gas supplies to Pridnestrovie. It’s very important what position the Russian side will hold since destructive steps taken by Chisinau in early November also affect Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovian territory.

This was stated by the PMR Foreign Affairs Minister Vitaly Ignatiev in the Special Conversation program on the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.

“We’re doing everything to prevent any critical scenario and to ensure a stable situation. Pridnestrovie has proposed methods as well as mechanisms combination that will minimize not only social but also humanitarian and energy costs. With such detailed proposals, our representatives went to Moscow,” Vitaly Ignatiev noted.

According to the Foreign Affairs Minister, the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova on energy issues since the beginning of November has not led to anything, also because the atmosphere of confidence between parties has been generally destroyed.

“Strategically, Moldova has never changed its approaches. Throughout its entire period of post-Soviet independence, it fought against the Pridnestrovian inhabitants, because specifically, they suffer from every restriction imposed by Chisinau. The Moldovan authorities don’t see in Pridnestrovian inhabitants people whose interests and rights they are ready to respect,” Vitaly Ignatiev shared.

We remind you that the gas crisis in the PMR has aggravated since November 1 after JSC Moldovagaz, violated the terms of the contract with the Russian supplier, reducing the blue fuel’s volume for Pridnestrovie from 3.9 to 2.3 million cubic meters per day.

In the republic until December 1, the emergency state was extended, large enterprises’ working was suspended, and energy-saving measures were introduced in the social sector.

The previous week, the Pridnestrovian delegation headed by the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov went to Moscow.
