The Red Cross plans to organize an aid system to Ukrainian refugees and Pridnestrovian families hosting them

The delegation of the International Committee visited Tiraspol today

Tiraspol, May 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross headed by Roman Makeover. According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the First Deputy Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank Alexey Melnik also took part in the meeting.

The ICRC delegation is in Pridnestrovie on a working visit, the purpose of which is to work out the technical aspects of assisting citizens of Ukraine and residents of the republic.

According to Vitaly Ignatiev, any help is welcome under the current conditions. 32.5 thousand citizens of Ukraine have already entered the territory of the PMR, and 25.8 thousand of them remained in the republic. 1,703 people used the services of accommodation centers. So far, Pridnestrovie is helping the citizens of Ukraine on its own and will continue to do so in the future.

At the same time, as the Foreign Minister noted, today, the humanitarian situation in the PMR is seriously complicated by the administrative and bureaucratic actions of Moldova aimed at blocking Pridnestrovian imports, including medicines, food, fuel, and plant protection products.

Roman Makhover stressed that he understands the concerns of Pridnestrovie. According to him, the priority task of the International Committee of the Red Cross is to organize a system of assistance for Ukrainian citizens and Pridnestrovian families hosting them soon. Once the assistance program has been launched, the ICRC will consider expanding it to other vulnerable groups.
