Grigoriopol District, April 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Explosions took place in the Mayak village, Grigoriopol District, today.
Information confirmed. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR reports two blown up cell towers. No one was hurt.
According to the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the first explosion took place at 6:40 am, the second one - at 7:05 am.
Law enforcement officers and emergency services of Pridnestrovie immediately arrived on the scene. Militiamen from Grigoriopol cordoned off the area of the Mayak radio and television center, sappers of the Ministry of Defense began to survey all PRTC facilities.
As of 9:00 am, it is known that there are two strongest signal arrays damaged: the first one is megawatt, the second one is half-megawatt. Both rebroadcasted the radio of the Russian Federation.
None of the PRTC staff and local residents were injured.
PRTC is the Pridnestrovian Radio and Television Center. This is one of 14 radio transmitting centers of the former USSR.
The signal from the PRTC can be rebroadcasted to the USA, the Middle East and Latin America. The radio center was built in the late 1960s.
