Meeting with the Polish Ambassador-at-Large Artur Dmochowski was held at the PMR Foreign Affairs Ministry

As the Polish chairmanship in the OSCE, he promised an objective mediator focused on the population supporting and achieving results in the negotiation process

Tiraspol, February 21 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev held a meeting with the Poland Republic’s Ambassador-at-Large of Foreign Affairs Ministry Artur Dmochowski in Tiraspol. The Polish Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova Bartlomiej Zdaniuk, the OSCE Mission Head to Moldova Claus Neukirch, and Coordinator for the Pridnestrovian Settlement of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Marek Tsalka were also its participants.

Artur Dmochowski described the Polish OSCE Chairmanship priorities, emphasizing Warsaw’s interest in a constructive dialogue and de-escalation. According to him, the Chairmanship has realistic goals, it won’t propose any revolutionary solutions and however, it intends to cope with the existing challenges. In the person of the Polish chairmanship, he promised an objective mediator focused on the population and achieving results supporting in the negotiation process.

Participants of the meeting analyzed the current situation at the representatives on political issues level and prospects for holding a meeting in the 5+2 format. Vitaly Ignatiev confirmed the Pridnestrovian interest in a successful dialogue and concrete achievements related to improving the population and economic agent's situation.

At the same time, he described the negative tendency in the negotiation process related to the Moldovan side's failure to fulfill its obligations under the Berlin Plus package and the introduction of various restrictions as well as hybrid forms of pressure on Pridnestrovie. Vitaly Ignatiev noted the necessity for Moldovan representatives to have powers and a mandate to reach specific agreements, and consistency in the Republic of Moldova approaches. In his opinion, meetings of the 5+2 format should be held without putting forward additional conditions and such a platform should be used for a competitive and compromise-oriented dialogue with international assistance.

The PMR Foreign Minister also informed his colleague about the situation concerning telecommunications, the use of bridge near Bychok and Gura-Bikului villages, the necessity of illegally detained workpieces for Pridnestrovian license plate numbers returning, difficulties with medicines, and other topical issues delivery.
