Yuri Vernidub: I’m very proud of my football players

The Sheriff head coach commented on the defeat by Inter in the Champions League

Tiraspol, October 20 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Tiraspol FC Sheriff head coach Yuri Vernidub called the match against Milan Inter with a score of 3:1 as a good one.

“It was a good game. I said yesterday that Inter isn’t only a big, but also a decent club, which is fighting for the Championships in Italy. We tried to play football. The first half time we lost with a score of 0:1, in the second one we adjusted appropriately. We scored a return good goal. Unfortunately, we missed two goals from the standard provision. Of course, I wish we had more goals scored, but that's all we have. I’m grateful to my players for their dedication, because they fought to the end. We also have a return game in Tiraspol, we’ll prepare to it,” Yuri Vernidub said after the game at San Siro stadium.

The Ukrainian coach noted that, despite the defeat, his team looked decent in a match against the distinguished opponent.

According to Yuri Vernidub, “the team fought, not only defended, but also moved well from defense to attack. We scored a good goal from the standard provision, there’re still unrealized chances. Of course, Inter is Inter. However, I’m very happy and proud of my football players.”

The Sheriff lost its first points in the Champions League, but all the same remained on the first line in the D Group. The next match against Inter Yuri Vernidub team will play in Tiraspol on November 3.
