Pridnestrovians became the WDFPF World Powerlifting Champions

Andrei Senkiv together with Maxim Foksha won medals at the competitions in Italy

Tiraspol, September 19 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian athletes won the World Drug Free Powerlifting Federation (WDFPF) Championships. Competitions took place on the Italian island Sardinia.

Andrei Senkiv from Bendery won the gold medal of the World Championships in a separate movement on the bench pressing in the weight category up to 82.5 kg. His result is 180 kg.

According to Andrei Senkiv, “Athletes from around the world gathered. The organization of competition is very serious. There were motion detectors. That’s why a slightest foot lift off or any wrong movement is enough for equipments immediately activation and the result wasn’t considered. Also, if the barbell is two centimeters below your chest, it’ll threaten to immediately disqualification.”

Another Pridnestrovian powerlifter Maxim Foksha won in a separate movement on the bench pressing among juniors in the weight category up to 60 kg. The 15-year-old athlete showed the result of 93.5 kg, which became the world-record among juniors.

Both weightlifters are the Tiraspol Titan Sports Club trainees. By the World Championships, athletes were preparing under the Anatoly Semerenko leadership
