The PMR MFA: Russia reaffirms its role as a guarantor state and mediator in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement

Tiraspol, June 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) have published comment on the statement of the Russian Federation State Duma on the situation around Pridnestrovie and on the republic’s inhabitants’ supporting measures.

“The adopted document once again confirmed the important role of the Russian Federation as a guarantor state and mediator in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement. We’re counting on that the international negotiation process will return in a constructive way and its participants will adhere to principles as well as negotiation procedures and abandon the sanction siege policy towards Pridnestrovie,” the PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.

The present day the Russian Federation State Duma adopted the Statement “On the plans and actions of Moldova and Ukraine leading to the disruption of the Pridnestrovian conflict settlement, and supporting measures the Russian Federation citizens, including Russian compatriots in Pridnestrovie.”

The State Duma expresses deep concern over the situation aggravation around Pridnestrovie. This situation directly affects rights and interests of the Russian Federation citizens as well as Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie and invite danger not only to their safety but also welfare, the paper reports.

Russian parliamentarians continue to condemn the use of blockade and restrictive measures against Pridnestrovie as well as any attacks on the peacekeeping operation.

They consider it necessary to unblock the negotiation process on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict settlement at all levels as soon as possible.

The State Duma appealed to the Russian Government with specific proposals of supporting the Pridnestrovian residents.
