Tiraspol, June 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Konstantin Zatulin spoke about the work on a bill on a simplified procedure for granting Russian citizenship to Pridnestrovians.
During his speech at the parliamentary session, the Special Representative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for Migration and Citizenship presented a statement on the situation around Pridnestrovie. The draft of this statement was introduced by the United Russia party yesterday. This was a response to the appeal of the defenders of Pridnestrovie to the international community with a request to prevent Moldova from infringing the rights of the PMR residents.
“During the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, citizens of Russia living in Pridnestrovie voted for many of us ... The Russian Federation will not let our compatriots and Russian citizens in Pridnestrovie be humiliated and brought to their knees,” Zatulin stressed.
The State Duma accepted the statement presented by Zatulin and turned to the Russian Government with specific proposals to support the residents of Pridnestrovie.
“There are other proposals that were not included in this text. We are working on them. We are talking about simplifying Russian citizenship for residents of Pridnestrovie, we are talking about reopening air traffic with Tiraspol,” the Special Representative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Migration and Citizenship said.
