Tiraspol, April 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian Republican Bank announces the commemorative coins introduction, which are dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the tragedy on Chernobyl nuclear generating plant. These are coins in denomination of 25 rubles, which have been issued outside the series.
Commemorative coins are the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank monetary units, which are acting as means of exchange and payment on the territory of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and accepted at their notional amount.
Coins are made of white nickel-plated steel with diameter 28.65 mm, weight 9.45 g, with smooth milled edge and mintage about 2,500 units.
The power unit building of the Chernobyl nuclear generating plant is depicted on center of the coin reverse, a sign of radioactive hazard is located above of it. At the top there is an inscription “The Chernobyl tragedy” around a circle; below is depicted the inscription “04/26/1986.”
