Bendery, March 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At an emergency meeting, the Joint Control Commission approved the Chief of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces Headquarters (this is Colonel Alexander Sevryukov), commandants of the Northern and Central sections of the Security Zone, as well as military observers from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova.

Recall that an emergency meeting of the JCC was convened by the Russian side, since the representatives of Moldova, Ukraine, and the OSCE Mission did not attend yesterday's meeting. According to the Co-Chairman of the JCC from Pridnestrovie, Oleg Belyakov, there is information that some members of the Moldovan delegation have coronavirus. He recalled that the rules of the JCC assume that decisions can be made with a smaller number of votes in an emergency. The Head of the Pridnestrovian delegation stressed that the peacekeeping process should not stop.

“At the moment, all functional issues related to the activities of peacekeepers in the Security Zone, taking into account the persistent position of the Russian side, have been resolved. Military observers and military commandants have been appointed. The mechanism of the peacekeeping operation is now fully operational. It can be assumed that in the current period we will get reliable information from the Security Zone about events and those issues that are being resolved by the peacekeeping forces in the framework of maintaining peace and security,” Oleg Belyakov said.
