Tiraspol, January 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The regular meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) didn’t take place. After many-hours-long discussion, the parties couldn’t arrive at a common view on the agenda formation.
The Moldovan side is trying to include in the agenda an issue, that doesn’t apply to the body competence, the Co-Chairman of the JCC from the PMR Oleg Belyakov notes.
“The agenda are included issues, that have no concern with the peacekeeping operation and should be considered at other negotiating venues. It’s unacceptable to politicize the situation in the peacekeeping operation. The Pridnestrovian side is against such predetermined questions,” Oleg Belyakov said.
According to him, the Joint Military Commission (JMC) reports reviewing is continuing to be blocked by the Moldovan side
The Co-chairman added, that “We have repeatedly applied for explanations on what grounds we cannot proceed with assessments, which related to the Security Zone situation. We feel stumped: whether it’s a position of the delegation, or a political agenda has been taken to disestablish the peacekeeping operation mechanisms.”
In that respect, the Pridnestrovian side delivered a statement on the purposeful blocking the work of JCC by the Moldovan delegation’s representatives.
“The agenda was included very important issues, which unfortunately have yet remained unconsidered. Among them the Joint Peacekeeping Forces’ operating plan for 2021, a reports on seizure of weapons and ammunition in the Security Zone, a report on peacekeeping posts’ readiness and others,” Oleg Belyakov concluded.
