Tiraspol, November 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. From March 28 to November 4, a competition for students of schools “The big break” was held in Russia. It was attended by a student of the 11th grade of the Tiraspol secondary school No. 9, an activist of “The victory volunteers” movement in Pridnestrovie, Elena Ovcharenko.
The competition was held in several stages. Initially, 1.4 million participants received orientation tests. Thanks to it, students were able to determine for themselves the direction in which they will continue to work. There were 9 of them in total. Elena chose “Be healthy”. The direction is related to medicine.
After that, the participants began to develop their own projects. All the work took place remotely.
“One of the tasks is to come up with a concept of your invention or a medicine for people with diabetes. I came up with a bracelet, that is put on patient’s arm and measures the level of glucose in the blood. It is also synchronized with the phone, where the number of bread units and the proper dosage of insulin are calculated,” Elena Ovcharenko described to the Novosti Pridnestrovya. news agency
Points were awarded after each stage. According to the rating, the girl advanced to the semi-final, which took place in Moscow. Then the participants of the competition worked in teams of 10 people. The semi-final took place in one day. The process of creating the project was observed by psychologists, who assessed the personal qualities of each. After each stage, points were awarded both for the team and for the individual.
The finalists of the competition were 1,200 people, including Elena Ovcharenko. The final stage took place in the international children’s center “Artek” in Crimea.
“In the final it was necessary to make a concept of my invention in the business sector. We have invented an application, that will tutor teenagers in business operations,” our agency’s interlocutress noted.
A schoolgirl from Pridnestrovie became the holder of a finalist certificate, a holiday package for a summer shift in “Artek” and sponsors’ prizes. Elena lacked only 6 points to become the winner of the competition in the individual exam.
