Moldovan delegation disrupted the JCC meeting again

Bendery, October, 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The parties failed to adopt the agenda at the third meeting of the JCC. The reason is that the Moldovan delegation is trying to include in the document issues that are not within the peacekeeping body competence.

“The delegation of Pridnestrovie regrets that today Moldova Republic`s representatives take an unconstructive position, and are blocking the adoption of the agenda for the third meeting. Issues that are not within the JCC competence and create a certain element of tension between the parties are proposed deliberately,” Oleg Belyakov, Co-Chairman of the JCC from Pridnestrovie said.

In particular, the Moldovan delegation insists on discussing the incident with the Moldovan police officers` detention in the Kamensky region, who, by the way, were released from custody according to the agreement of the political leaders of the PMR and the RM.

In this regard, Oleg Belyakov recalled that earlier there had been more than 20 instances of Pridnestrovian citizens` abduction by Moldovan security forces. And the representatives of the Republic of Moldova refused to discuss these incidents within the framework of the JCC meeting.

Referring to the situation with the detention of Moldovan policemen, Oleg Belyakov noted that that issue was the responsibility of the parties` law enforcement agencies, and urged his colleagues not to politicize the peacekeeping platform.

“We regret that the Moldovan side is trying to politicize the work of the JCC,” the Co-Chairman concluded.
