Tiraspol, September, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. From 22 to 27 September in the Russian city of Engels, Saratov region, there was held the Youth Championship of Russia in rowing and canoeing. It was attended by athletes under the age of 24, among whom were trainees of the Tiraspol Sports School for Rowing and Shooting Andrey Laskorunsky, Kirill Fedorenko and Vladimir Nikulin.
According to the State Service for Sports of the PMR, participation in the championship was a successful debut for the master of sports Andrey Laskorunsky. The resident of Tiraspol managed to win three gold medals. All three - in kayak pairs at distances of 500, 1000 and 5000 meters. Zakhar Khuzhiy became his crew partner. Andrey Laskorunsky was included in the Russian national team under the age of 19.
They added the silver medal won in the 200m kayak fours to this winning collection.
Kirill Fedorenko finished second in the kayak fours at a kilometer distance. In total, the Pridnestrovian athlete started in six disciplines.
Another Pridnestrovian athlete Vladimir Nikulin won the bronze medal at 200 meters in a kayak pairs.
