The President visited the updated Memorials of Glory in Slobodzeya and the village of Nezavertaylovka

The center of Slobodzeya has noticeably changed. Recent opening of the fountain and a modern, cozy alley leading to it was significant for residents not only of the city, but of the entire district. The area in front of the district administration building is landscaped. The Memorial of Glory in Slobodzeya was completely reconstructed this year. Stone panoramas of the events of the Great Patriotic War are installed here. Vadim Krasnoselsky, examining the object, called the idea very interesting, noting the quality of implementation. Landscaping has been updated: coniferous stands that have outlived themselves have been replaced by young colonized thuja and blue spruce. Planting material are made in Grigoriopol. Today they are installing artificial covering imitating grass that has arrived from Holland. According to Vasily Tishchenko, work could not be completed due to the pandemic-related restrictions in the supply of materials by the May holidays. St. George's ribbon is made of decorative stones at the central flower-bed. The eternal flame will burn in the frame of a new stone star. The paths of the memorial are already tiled with modern tiles, and those leading to the memorial site will be put in order by next year. The plans also include the opening of a newlywed park and the launch of a dry fountain.

Another memorial complex that the President visited today is in the village of Nezavertaylovka. The local administration pays special attention to preserving the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War, Vasily Tishchenko told Vadim Krasnoselsky. The Rural Memorial of Glory is conditionally divided into two sectors: one is dedicated to the liberators of the region who died in 1944, and the second to local residents who did not return from the war. The descendants not only imprinted in stone the names of 575 fellow villagers who sacrificed their lives for peace, but also store photos of almost every one of them in the rural museum, said Anna Gonenko, the Head of the village administration of Nezavertaylovka.

Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the leadership and residents of the village for personal involvement and reverence with which they relate to the history of the country and the feat of the Soviet people.
