Tiraspol, May 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today there was held a video-conference of the subgroup on human rights with the participation of specialists from Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Following the results of the previous meeting, ombudspersons for human rights of PMR and RM agreed to discuss the rights of people living with HIV / AIDS and the possibilities of cooperation in this area. However, the press service of the PMR MFA reports that in disregard of the previously agreed agenda, the Moldovan side tried to use this platform for speculation.
“In response to the unreasoned appeals of the Republic of Moldova, in particular, it was emphasized that any requirements regarding medical personnel movement were absolutely unsubstantiated, which had been confirmed by the example of mass infection of Romanian doctors arriving in Moldova, as well as by highly negative statistics of the COVID-19 cases among health workers in the Republic of Moldova,” the PMR MFA said.
Along with this, it was indicated that Pridnestrovie has met the needs of the Moldovan side in that regard. The PMR formulated an initiative on the temporary residence of involved physicians from Pridnestrovie on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Subsequently, this initiative was implemented by Chisinau with the help of the UN Development Program.
In addition, the Pridnestrovian side emphasized that it did not create any obstacles to the movement of Romanian school personnel, as well as agricultural workers who cultivated land in the PMR.
The Pridnestrovian side also spoke out about numerous facts of human rights violation in Pridnestrovie by the Republic of Moldova authorities during the pandemic. Among them, there are repeated incidents of the Pridnestrovian goods blocking at the Moldovan border, including drugs and medical equipment, which are vital for the population of Pridnestrovie during the coronavirus pandemic.
Separately, the PMR experts focused on the practice of forcing Pridnestrovians to purchase compulsory medical insurance policies of the Republic of Moldova, without which people were denied to be taken on board so that they could return to their permanent residence in Pridnestrovie.
PMR representatives gave a strict legal estimate of the indicated inhumane actions of the Republic of Moldova, which led to massive violations of the Pridnestrovian residents` fundamental rights and freedoms.
