Vitaly Ignatiev: Pridnestrovie is always ready for a mature substantive dialogue

PMR Foreign Minister and the head of OSCE Mission in Moldova discussed the state of the negotiation process

The Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between the Minister Vitaly Ingnatiev and the Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie Alexander Stetsiuk and Ambassador-at-Large in the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister of Pridnestrovie Ruslan Slobodeniuk.

During communication, interlocutors exchanged substantive views on the current state of the negotiation process, emphasizing some outcomes of the later meetings of relevant expert (working) groups taken place over the past three weeks. Vitaly Ignatiev drew the interlocutor’s attention to the constantly worsening situation in the banking sector, coupled with the pressure on Pridnestrovian enterprises caused by political reasons. The Minister called on international partners to engage as actively as possible in systematic work to preserve the negotiation mechanisms and prevent the degradation of situation.

The PMR Foreign Minister noted the unacceptable nature of the meetings outcome of groups on transport and road sector development and on telecommunications issues. The head of foreign affairs agency noted that Moldovan side refuses to fulfill its obligations in the telecommunications sector and speaks out against further deterioration of the situation; the minister also underlined the Pridnestrovie’s independent driving to develop communication networks to provide full services to the population, including measures to protect against harmful external interference.

In the field of transport, the diplomat, criticizing the contradictory and inconsistency of the Moldovan side’s approach, emphasized Pridnestrovie’s mood to resolve the issue of driver’s licenses as soon as possible and to remove any restrictions on Pridnestrovian vehicles international movement.

Separately, Vitaly Ignatiev drew the OSCE Missions’ attention to threats voiced by Chisinau in the context of the situation in the Security Zone and warned the Moldovan side against short-sighted rash steps that could lead to an escalation of tension.

The diplomat confirmed the constant readiness of Pridnestrovie for a mature substantive dialogue.

Along with, the meeting participants discussed other pressing issues of the ongoing negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
