Tiraspol, February 4./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the OSCE Mission office in Chisinau hosted a meeting of specialized experts on telecommunication of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. This message was published on the official website of MFA of the PMR.
The parties discussed practical implementation of telecommunication agreements signed in 2017-2018, and parties also exchanged specific opinions on work the sides accomplished in these fields of activity.
The Pridnestrovian delegation urged the Moldovan side to take necessary steps and implement as soon as possible the existing obligations, laid down in the negotiation process agreements.
It should be recalled that in 2003 Moldova State Radio Communications Company have launched television transmitter broadcasting on the frequency used by Interdnestrcom. Because of this mobile communication in Pridnestrovie was almost paralyzed. At the end of 2016, the Moldovan Mobile Operator Orange had breached the contract and unilaterally took IDC frequencies used since 2012.
The protocol decision on telecommunication was signed in 2017. The road map for the implementation of the agreement was negotiated in 2018. Nevertheless, Chisinau never took concrete steps.
During the meeting in 2019, President of Pridnestrovie Vadim Krasnoselskiy and President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon agreed to resolve the issue by March 1, 2020.
