Tiraspol, November 21. / Novosti Pidnestrovia/. Near the village of Koshnitsa, on the territory controlled by the Republic of Moldova, vandals smashed commemorative granite plaque to the heroes of the great Patriotic war, installed on the walls of the long-term firing point 417. Below, they added the words "occupiers go home!".
They also destroyed a plaque in honor of Lieutenant Vasily Suvorin. In the summer of 1941, he commanded a military pillbox located at the crossing of Nazi troops across the Dniester. The garrison held for two days, was surrounded, but destroyed 500 enemy soldiers (it is comparable to a battalion!). When the ammunition ran out, Suvorin led the fighters, forcing his way through the enemy positions "with a bayonet and a grenade." Along the way, he collected and organized about 200 other red army soldiers who were surrounded. For his brave actions in the early days of the war, he received the Order of the Red Star.
On the wall of the military pillbox, which was commanded by Suvorin, in his honor a commemorative plaque was installed. Recently, it was broken.
11.4 million Soldiers and officers of the Red army died in the war against fascism. Among them were about 20 thousand Pridnestrovians. Irretrievable losses of the USSR including civilians is amounted to 25-27 million people. According to various estimates, the fascist-Romanian occupation administration destroyed in Pridnestrovie from 40 to 90 thousand people. The most horrific events occurred in Dubossary in the autumn of 1941 – in a few days, the Nazis killed 8 thousand people. The genocide stopped only in 1944, when the Red army liberated the territory of Pridnestrovie from occupation.
Today, the occupiers in Moldova are those who defended and liberated it from fascism. Abuse of monuments of the Great Patriotic war in Moldova occurs regularly. So, last year vandals painted words and paints on a monument in the form of a tank T-34 near the village of Leusheny Hyncheshty district. The IS-3 tank, installed as a monument in the village of Corneștiin the Ungen district, was subjected to a similar abuse. Then the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky proposed to transfer the tank to PRidnestrovie for restoration and preservation.
At the same time, scandals related to discrimination on the basis of language do not cease in Moldova. On the eve of social networks were shocked by the story of bullying emergency doctor over the Russian-speaking 73-year-old patient in a pre-infarction condition. On requests for help, the doctor demanded that he was addressed in the state Romanian language.
It should be recalled that one of the main reasons for the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict, which turned into a large-scale aggression of Moldova against Pridnestrovie in 1992, was language discrimination and rampant radical nationalism. In Chisinau, Russian-speaking residents were attacked. The laws on language, adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the MSSR in 1989, put in an unequal position in relation to the titular nation other peoples of the Federal Republic, which constituted 35% of its population. Chisinau ignored the requirements of Russians, Ukrainians, Gagauz, etc to guarantee equality and development of languages of all peoples and to give the status of the state Russian language.
Recently, the UN General Assembly on social and humanitarian issues adopted by a majority of votes the Russian draft resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism. Moldova abstained.
