Moscow, November 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovia/. President of the PMR Vladimir Krasnoselskiy told the correspondent of the Russian Parlamentskaya Gazeta newspaper about the desire of the residents of the Republic to consider integration with the Russian Federation as a strategic guide for development.
“We are often asked the question, why Russia, why the people in the referendum (2006) spoke in favor of the independence of the PMR with subsequent integration in the Russian Federation. Why Russia, why not Moldova or Ukraine? One important point lies here. People of 72 nationalities live on the territory of Pridnestrovie. We have three official languages. In the territory of Pridnestrovie, there has never been nationalism, any manifestations of xenophobia and racism. Our neighbors are mono-national in their development. There is a dominance of indigenous people over another. In the Russian Federation, a multinational state with more than 150 nations and nationalities, there is no mono-nationality,” the President emphasized.
The Head of the State stressed that the concept of the Russian world defined a community in which there was no harassment on the basis of national and confessional grounds.
“In this society, you can develop your culture and no one is infringing on you. In this there is a concept of the Russian world,” said Vadim Krasnoselskiy.
According to the President, the Russian world in Pridnestrovie is felt even more than in Russia itself.
“We feel it and see it. Therefore, we are close with Russia in spirit of internationalism, in the spirit of the Russian world, in the Slavic spirit, the Head of the state concluded.
