He recalled that the 5 + 2 format consists of negotiators (Moldova and Pridnestrovie), guarantors (Russia, Ukraine), an OSCE mediator and observers (the United States and the European Union). In this format, Pridnestrovie has equal rights, duties and status.”
“Without the consent of Pridnestrovie, nothing is accepted and signed, nor without the consent of the other (Moldovan) side. That 's right. And therefore it is important to move forward and towards each other, compromise, first of all in the interests of people living on both banks of the Dniester,”said the Head of the Pridnestrovian state, adding that 5 + 2 was a negotiating platform for discussion of a whole issues block (economic, humanitarian, cultural, transport, telecommunication).
The Bratislava meeting, Vladimir Krasnoselskiy reminded, took place without signing of the final document. “As diplomats say, a pause was put on, the clock stopped. But on issues, compromises must be found. I had formal and informal meetings with Igor Dodon. And just yesterday in the Bavaria Conference the parties were also unable to find consensus on some issues,” the President stated.
According to him, the Moldovan side incorrectly approached to the hearings of issues that were not discussed in Bratislava. “It is categorically wrong. It is necessary to be ready for discussion and to work out issues before putting them on the agenda. We have not been offered these questions before, we have not worked them out,” Vadim Krasnoselsky told.
He stressed that Pridnestrovie was in favor of developing consensus and making decisions on the issues that have been considered at the meeting of the 5 + 2 format in Bratislava.
At the same time, the Head of the Pridnestrovian State believes that it is important not even to sign protocol decisions, but to apply them in practice.
“Norms should be convenient for people. There are many problems. Both Moldova and Pridnestrovie must clearly understand the responsibility to people. We work for people, decisions are made for people, excluding all policies. It is impractical to politicize this process,” the President of the PMR said.
