Tiraspol, November 1./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The volume of money transfers to the republic in favour of individuals under international money transfer systems for 9 months amounted to 75.73 million dollars in dollar equivalent, having increased in comparison with the same period last year by 9.5%. This is a record value in the last five years, the Central Bank reported.
In September of this year, 8.82 million dollars were transferred from abroad through electronic payment systems, which is 1.6% less than in August.
67% of the total amount of transfers was sent from the CIS, 15.3% - from the countries of the European Union. The main counterparties of the Republic on money transfers remain Russia, Israel, USA, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Great Britain. In total, funds from 124 states were transferred to individuals.
According to the results of the last nine months of this year, the main transferred currency is the US dollars – 55.1% of the total volume of transactions. The share of the Russian ruble amounted 27.6%, euro – 17.2%, Moldovan lei – 0.03%.
For 9 months of the current year, individuals from Pridnestrovie sent abroad transfers in total 23.69 million dollars, which is 3.19 million dollars, or 15.6%, more than the comparable period of 2018. More than 70% of the total remittances were sent to CIS countries, transactions in the EU amounted to 3.8%.
“Inflow of foreign exchange funds to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is recorded in the amount of 52.04 million dollars, which exceeds the value of the corresponding indicator of the last year by 3.36 million dollars, or 6.9%”, the press release of the PRB reported.
